New Class

Fun With Fitness is now holding a Thursday lunch time, Ladies Aerobics class.
The session is 1 hour long and provides a really good cardio workout = which is great for weight loss/management and a stretching session at the end to increase flexibility.
This is aerobics with a difference because it has no difficult steps and is easy to follow. Many times I hear ladies say that they like the idea of aerobics but cannot keep up with the foot-work, so this class is for those ladies!
The class is ladies only to allow ladies of different cultures to exercise freely and for any ladies who are self conscious.
The class starts at 12.30pm and is for 1 hour.
It is £4.50 per session
Held at Guildford Road, Colchester (bottom of east hill)

Anyone Can Run
Lots of people think that they cannot run. Some have tried it and found it impossible to breath after a few minutes and try as they might, it just seems so exhausting.
Some have had children and when they try and run find that they are exercise incontinent. (This is such a common problem and nothing to be embarrassed about).
Some try running and find that their shins hurt.
Some people find that when they run their feet hurt.
There are so many barriers and hurdles to overcome to become a good runner. Very few people can just get up and run, most people have to overcome problems before they can run well.
Fun With Fitness can teach anyone to run!
Running coach, Belinda, has not yet come across a problem that cannot be overcome.
Running should be an enjoyable pass time with endless benefits to ones health.
Have you ever looked at someone running along and thought it would be lovely to be able to run like that.

Inglesborough Massif Hack

Fun With Fitness has started it's new challenge of training 13 individuals for a 25 mile mountain hike, around the Yorkshire Dales.

Our first training walk took place last Friday and was a really enjoyable evening. We walked 8 miles through Colchester and Wivenhoe. Well done to all who took part! Great walking!

This Saturday is our next walk (3rd July), we are doing 2 laps of Friday woods, with a break for a sandwich. This walk is going to be about 12 miles.

We are then alternating between hall based, strength and endurance training and walking.

Walking is such a fun way to get fit and what better way to make yourself do it = than by committing to a charity mountain walk! It is still not too late to join us!

Kids Club for Whitsun

Want something fun for the kids to do for the Whitsun holiday?
We have two clubs running this Whitsun with the emphasis on music and fitness.
We will be skipping = french, double dutch, single rope and individual skipping to music.
We will be stomping with household equipment and rhythm games.
As well as some movement and stretching to music. The 4 - 7 year olds will be doing some craft activities and their skipping and stomping will be relevant for their abilities.
It will be a fun packed day.
Thursday the 3rd of June!
10 - 12pm for the 4 - 7 year olds = £8
1 - 5pm for the 7 - 14 year olds = £12

Whitsun Holiday Club

Stomp and Jump-rope proved to be the perfect combination for a children's holiday workshop.

All 16 children were entertained and engaged for the whole session. We had skipping fun with double-dutch skipping, single rope skipping to music and french skipping. The stomp session was fun packed with percussion using brooms, buckets, drumsticks and basket balls.

Without realising it the children worked out for the whole day, using their whole bodies. Fitness truly was great fun!

We are doing another workshop in the Whitsun holiday. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Holiday Club = Easter
Fun With Fitness is once again joining forces with Musikate to bring an Easter holiday club for children over the age of 7 years old.

It will be a fun and modern two or three days of percussion and fitness with a presentation to parents/carers at the end of the final session.

It will have a combination of a Stomp style session, a jump rope routine and a percussion workshop.

Jogging increases brain activity is the breaking news today!

Jogging can in fact make you more intelligent!
Those of us who jog regularly are in no doubt of that anyway!

Feeling lethargic?
Feeling low?
Feeling depressed?
Always cold?
Always half asleep and no matter how much you sleep you still feel tired?
Don't eat much but always over weight?
Can't think straight and get your words muddled?
And as we have heard today = do you want to turn back the clock and increase your brain activity?
Jogging is for any one of any age and any size = jogging can be slow, it can be fast and it can be interspersed with walking!
But jogging is fun and easy if done properly!
